Brakes Discs for Motorcycles from EBC Brakes work great for fast street and even Race use according to Maria Costello MBE
November 16th, 2011Maria is proud to announce that the EBC Brakes sponsored Supertwin Kawasaki ER650 she built & raced this season will be on show at the forthcoming Motorcycle Live show at the Birmingham NEC.
The hand built bike includes EBC ProLite XC contour rotors are the toughest and yet the lightest sport and race brake rotors you can put on your bikes for many reasons and here is why these are best.

1. Contoured profile reduces weight by 7.5% without reducing actual “cooling mass” of disc.
2. New German mill rolled heat treated stainless steel rotor blade.
3. Vertical scraper slot system removes dirt, dust and debris quickly from braking area.
4. Unique fully overlapping vent hole pattern reduces weight, cleans disc blade and helps deglaze pads.
5. New Patented Stainless Steel SD (square drive) button drive system, prevent warping and vibration totally system – click here for full tech info.
6. Ultra lightweight ductile alloy centre hub.
7. Use of SD system allows less drive buttons, in the case of EBC we are down to six buttons
8. Full stainless components, no rusty parts and that’s guaranteed.
The bike that Maria will race at the Isle of Man TT in 2012 will be on display on the NGK Spark Plugs (UK) Ltd stand from 19th – 27th November 2011, Hall 2, stand B110.
Best brakes for Impreza are EBC once again according to Northloop driver Floyd Merrison
November 16th, 2011
I was lucky enough to be part of the EBC trial for the Bluestuff /Orangestuff pads. I wasn’t too bothered which to try as I’d been very happy with EBC Yellowstuff for quite some time and I therefore had a reasonable confidence in EBC products.
I had tried the Redstuff, which were considered a fast road pad. They worked well but didn’t quite perform well on track. Perhaps this was my driving. They stopped well enough but felt strained when I was really on it. I then moved to Yellowstuff and they did exactly what I needed them to do and are brilliant for the price. No fade, no horrid noises, good feel and no judder. the only downside was perhaps that they didn’t last very long before needing replacement. But you can’t have everything at this price!
A box of Bluestuff arrived in the post and I fitted them front and rear. I bled the brakes with fresh fluid to make sure I gave them a fair test. The bedding in procedure consisted of driving the car to Spa and that was it. I had no time to do anything else really.
I hadn’t driven Spa before so I had to rely on the brakes quite heavily as I got up to speed with the track knowledge. The pads felt good from cold. Better than the Yellowstuff if I’m honest. Once warm the bite was there and heavy braking was straight and true. No noises, odd behaviour, just good braking. Nice.
I took a well known instructor out for a few laps before letting him drive the car. No complaints and quite complimentary.
The pads look like they have 80% left on the fronts and 95% on the rear. That’s pretty good. The yellows wouldn’t have faired as well. AP4 pots and Subaru 2 pots f/r if you’re wondering.
So, am I happy and would I buy again? Yes and yes!

Yellowstuff pads key to the 2012 season
November 16th, 2011Team Yellow – September 2011 Gatebil from Team Yellow on Vimeo.
This is filmed during the last Gatebil event of 2011 at Rudskogen Racing Track in September. Ju stin Shreeve and Joe Ayala of Tandem of Die flew over from USA, this is the awesome result we got…. Best ever!!!
Team yellow are looking for a great 2012 season with help from EBC Yellowstuff, currently team yellow’s Subaru WRX runs on Yellowstuff pads on the front and rear, the Supra and Silvia have Yellowstuff on the front and rear with groove rotors on the front and rear also from EBC Brakes.
When considering full race use, Yellowstuff has been a strong favourite, these pads do not require warm up but do get even stronger under the heat of hard driving.
The reason for using Yellowstuff by EBC Brakes is an aramid fibre based brake compound with high brake effect from cold and is possibly one of the first ever compounds that can be used for STREET AND TRACK DRIVING.
It is also the choice of 90% of the Mazda MX5 Miata competitors in the UK race series and has an unblemished record as rotor friendly track pad for vehicles up to 2000 lbs weight or 200 BHP. In the USA the SCCA and NASA drivers have been testing Yellowstuff with feedback and good reports POURING in from a 543 test driver major market proving event with these groups.

Skegness Beach Race won by EBC Brakes Rider Nathan Parker
November 16th, 2011
With the race taking place on the beach this was perfect for Parker racing with MX-S sintered pads and DRCF clutch kit from EBC Brakes, as MX-S pads have excellent durability in sand and the DRCF kits are 15% tougher than stock clutch kits.
The race got underway at 12 noon and Parker and Jordan Rose hit the front early, but
halfway round the first lap they had a coming together and both hit the deck, handing the lead to young sand specialist Nathan Watson.
Another crash later on the first lap saw Parker drop back to 6th but he soon settled into a comfortable rhythm and moved back through to third place by the end of the second lap and by lap 11 was up to second behind the flying Watson, however Watson ran out of fuel and had to push his bike back to the pits for a quick fill up. Luckily for him he had only just past the entrance to the pits so didn’t lose too much time. Parker was now in the lead and as everyone around him suffered from either running out of fuel or crashes, Parker just kept on going for lap after lap, building up a substantial lead.
After stopping to re-fuel on lap 21 he was still in the lead and was beginning to show his strength and fitness, setting the fastest lap of the race two laps later, one and a half hours into the race. He continued to increase his lead and was a clear two laps in front of second place by the time they went through the two hour mark. He was brought in for a precautionary top up of fuel as the race entered the last 30 minutes and after rejoining the race he was able to cruise home for a well deserved win, ahead of Watson, Moffat and Bradshaw.
A happy Parker commented “the conditions were really tough and I can’t say I enjoyed the experience, but I definitely enjoyed the win. I was knackered by the end. I think I’ll have to practice a bit more next time”
Formula Ford 2000 Brakes from EBC work great and according to Race winner James Nash the Greenstuff is the way to go
November 15th, 2011
The EBC Greenstuff brake pads were up to temperature right from the start and that allowed me to out-brake my oponent as early as lap two and pull out a lead to win the race
says James Nash after smashing the lap record by out braking his rivals at the Walter Hayes Trophy. Silverstone was once again host to the Walter Hayes Trophy in November and Scott Temple didnt hesitate at the opertunity of putting old schoold friend and British Touring Car Independant Champion from 2011- James Nash into his Van Diemen RF82 for the Formula Ford 2000 race. After just a small amount of running in the car on the Friday practise day Nash was imediatly quick in the car and qualified it second on the grid for the race on the Sunday.

EBC Greenstuff has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal, Nash proved this with an excellent start taking the lead by out braking his rival on lap two and pulled away to win by 5 seconds over the next car and smash the lap record in the process.
I really enjoyed the opertunity to drive a single seater again and the car was superb. The EBC Greenstuff brake pads were up to temperature right from the start and that allowed me to out-brake my oponent as early as lap two and pull out a lead to win the race
Nash’s win sealed a back to back victory for Scott Temple’s EBC Brakes Van Diemen RF82 and firmly establishing it as the car to beat in 2012.
EBC Brakes Wins Racer-X Reader’s Choice Award For Its Motocross Brakes
November 11th, 2011 With a 56% share of the aftermarket, EBC Brakes out-voted all other aftermarket brake suppliers combined in the recent survey of 2000 Racer-X motocross enthusiasts, expanding its market share in the survey by 20%+ compared to previous surveys.“EBC Brakes won this reader’s choice award by a country mile” stated Scott Wallenberg, Racer-X publisher, and continues its dominance of the motocross market for brake pads and rotors, especially in the USA.
EBC Brakes produces the largest range of motorcycle brakes in the world from three manufacturing locations in Bristol, UK, Northampton, UK and Ohio, USA and make the popular ranges of motocross brakes and clutches such as the MX-S sintered pads plus the OS series oversize brake rotor kits and the new super tough DRCF clutch kits.
EBC Brakes stocks and distributes its products in the USA from a huge new Los Angeles facility and distributes its products to 28 of the world’s largest distributors in the USA and Canada. EBC Brakes also has world dominance with distributors in almost every westernised market with an estimated world market share of 60-70% of the free aftermarket.
Recent other interesting events at EBC Brakes were the doubling of the Ohio sintered metal manufacturing plant with the addition of six further vacuum furnaces and a second continuous sintering furnace for volume production, making EBC Brakes the largest producer of sintered metal brakes in North America.
The EBC organic pad manufacturing plant in Bristol, UK recently launched its new range of V-pads for street cruisers or Big Twins in the USA and this product will go on sale in Europe, Spring 2012.
The EBC Brake rotor range is now also produced using a new German mill rolled special stainless steel material which is heat treated to a unique EBC specification to provide a combination of toughness and ductility and is another world leading motocross brake commodity.
EBC shows big gain in Brake pad fitment in Racer X survey
Formula Ford 2000 brakes by EBC deliver best stopping power which is important of course and the Greenstuff pad prove effective in working straight away from cold and staying consistant throughout races and for the duration of the braking areas” Says Scott Temple after claiming end of season victory in the BARC Classic Formula Ford 2000 Championship
November 11th, 2011
Scott Temple has finished 2011 on a high after winning the final round of the BARC Classic Formula Ford 2000 Championship. Temple who has run in various different Formula Ford 2000 cars over the last six years has always opted to run EBC Greenstuff Brake pads as his preferred choice, EBC Greenstuff has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. This successful partnership has seen Temple fight at the front end of the championship every year.
In 2011 Temple entered the Classic Formula Ford 2000 Championship in a newly recruited Van Diemen RF82. Unfortunately the first half of the year proved to be a developing period for which only 3 races were competed in with mechanical issues and all the mid season races being missed while the car was developed further. On his return to the grid in August the car was now much more competitive and Temple claimed third at Oulton Park, second at Cadwell Park and went on to win and defeat 3 times champion Ian Pearson at the last race at Mallory Park.
It was a testing start to the year but we did the right thing in missing half of the races to work on getting the car to a competitive level for the end of the year
claims Temple.
We were back where we should be for the last races and in the final race at Mallory I was the man to beat and I hope to continue that success into 2012. I would like to thank EBC Brakes for their continued to support, stopping power is very important of course and the Greenstuff pad proves effective in working straight away from cold and staying consistent throughout races and for the duration of the braking areas

Best clutches and brakes for motocross guide American Honda/ GEICO JG Off Road riders Jimmy Jarrett and Scott Watkins to podium finishes
November 7th, 2011
JG Off Road Ends 2011 OMA Season on the Podium
Morrison, Illinois (October 31, 2011)
Podium finishes fell into place for American Honda/ GEICO JG Off Road riders Jimmy Jarrett and Scott Watkins at the final round of the 2011 Parts Unlimited OMA series, the Moose Racing Moose Run. The Illinois race is a long-standing event on the circuit, and the two racing on EBC MX-S offroad pads and new DRCF Clutch Kit were able to use the slick conditions to their advantage.
Jarrett was able to catch Defending Champion Paul Whibley on the first lap and settled in to battle on the 38-mile track. While the weather stayed clear for the first of two laps, rain set in for the second, creating the perfect conditions for the mud-loving team safe in the knowledge the sintered copper alloy MX-S pads also have excellent durability in sand, wet and mud riding.
Jarrett was able to move ahead of Whibley on the second lap but crashed soon after, getting hung up on a log. Whibley jumped ahead and pulled away to take the win, with Jarrett in second.
It took me awhile to catch Whibs, but once I did it was a good race,
he said.
After I got hung up on that log, Whibley got around me and I didn’t see him again. But I ended up second and all in all it was a good day.
Watkins started his day in the back of the pack but like Jarrett, was able to recover the deficit by the end of the first lap by out breaking the rest of the pack with his MX-S offroad pads combined with his DRCF Clutch Kit. Watkins went wheel to wheel with Kawasaki- mounted Adam Bonneur for fourth, and after a splash of gas, he was able to move ahead into third for the finish.
I didn’t have a great start,
Watkins said.
I had to reel all of those guys in, but it was a new trail and we were all trying to figure it out. After I stopped for gas I just pinned it until I got hung up on a log, but I was able to pin it and finish third. It was a good day for the team.
We’re really excited to have both Jimmy and Scott on the podium,
said Gretchen Bennett, team co-owner.
Both of them have been working really hard and it showed today. We’re hoping to carry this momentum into this weekend’s double header at Loretta’s.
Jarrett and Watkins would like to thank team sponsors EBC Brakes.
The JG Off Road team will head to Hurricane Mills, Tennessee on November 4th and 6th to compete in the final two rounds of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series.
