During the off-season Jeff Jones Racing Team found their CX Racing, Cooper Tires Nissan S13 Formula Drift car on the set of a new reality show called “Date Night” from Sledge Street Entertainment. With a targeted debut in 2012 on NBC this new reality show is like the “Newlywed Game” meets ” Fear Factor” The shooting of this large scale production to place at Willow Springs International Raceway. The opening sequence of the show will display the Host introducing the show on the track as Jeff Jones comes screaming by in a Cooper Tires smoke filled drift.
The filming of the weekend consisted of 3 couples taking turns as passenger while answering intimate newlywed questions from the partner (via a wireless mic setup) during an intense high speed drift run courtesy of professional Formula Drift driver Jeff Jones. This provided major intense sensory overload and much comedic relief during very difficult intimate questions.

Prior to wrapping up production Jeff Jones treated the Director and Host to their very own taste of this wild professional sport and getting them hooked.

Jeff Jones would like to thank his awesome sponsors CX Racing, Cooper Tires, EBC Brakes, ClutchNet, Apexi USA, SR Motorcars, Brian Crower, CP Pistons, KN Filters and XXR Wheels for their continued support as none of this would be possible without them.

Michael Ridgway has been using Extreme Pro EPFA-HH (front) & MX-S (rear)

EBC Brakes are the best brake company around. Whether I’m putting down countless laps on the local motocross track or I’m going through tight back woods I know I can trust EBC Brakes to stop me on a dime every time. They never fail and they last the longest out of any brake pads around and their brake rotors are made of the highest quality you will find in a rotor. Other brake companies can’t compare to the quality of these pads and rotors and they are the only ones I will put on my bike. Period.

Michael Ridgway

The EPFA series feature a blend of tungsten and moly metal and were developed after comparing with 7 major competitors products. The new materials heat cycles better, feels better at the brake lever, last longer and beds in faster. If you want superb brakes, EPFA pad series are what you need.

The EBC MX-S series are sintered copper alloy, MX-S pads also have excellent durability in sand, wet and mud riding and are at the same time less aggressive to the brake rotor, perfect for racing in all weather conditions and different terrains.

Alastair Boulton of STM Phoenix is hoping that forthcoming 2012 season will be as prosperous as the last two.

After being crowned as the 750MC RGB Overall Champion and Class B champion in 2010 and Class F champion in 2011, Alastair is sticking with the winning formula of using Yellowstuff pads by EBC Brakes.

Using Yellowstuff pads give Alistair a great advantage, as the Yellowstuff pads do not require warm up but do get even stronger under the heat of hard driving. Even up to truck weights these pads grip and do not heat fade. (The Yellowstuff pads, are not a low dust pad and if your desire is for a low dust premium street use pad, you should consider EBC Redstuff)

Hallet is one of the region’s most popular motor racing tracks. It has over 80 feet of elevation change and is considered Technically Difficult. If you ever get the chance to run here you will not be disappointed.

Image taken from http://v6mustangperformance.com/news/3-7l-mustang-takes-hallet-road/

I had a fantastic time running here. They had it set up to run clockwise on this day. I have to say it was really nice and I think I like it better than counter clockwise. I prepped the car with EBC Bluestuff pads on all four wheels and used my stock wheels and Pirelli tires. The car handled very well and I was able to perform quite respectably for a car on street tires. As a fact I was never passed by another street car only full race prepped cars. And you can imagine some of the big V8 Shelby’s were less than happy getting passed by a V6 car, the biggest advantage of EBC Bluestuff NDX is their bite from cold and progressive brake feel and the ability to bring a car to a complete stop allowing drivers to brake late into the corners.

Image taken from http://v6mustangperformance.com/news/3-7l-mustang-takes-hallet-road/

The roar of the Bassani exhaust system garnered a lot of attention. As I went around the track people started coming out to the fences to see what was making this different noise. The 3.7 motor really has a sound of its own and Darryl Bassani made is sound as best as it could.

Image taken from http://v6mustangperformance.com/news/3-7l-mustang-takes-hallet-road/

I was able to make 5 20 minute run sessions. Later in the afternoon the 100+ F track temps was a bit on the hot side for a supercharged car. However as soon as I pulled in the pits it cooled right off. This car handled very well. Justin From LRS also took his 3.7L Mustang out on track the day before and had similar fantastic results.

Image taken from http://v6mustangperformance.com/news/3-7l-mustang-takes-hallet-road/

There were 3 straits in which I hit triple digit speeds. The Mustang EBC Bluestuff Bake Pads did very well. I was quite impressed with them. Now after a few laps they still would start to fade a bit. I have a brake duct cooling kit but was unable to get it installed before this event. I was also using Valvoline Dot 4 semi-synthetic fluid and by the end of the day I had a soft pedal.

I can’t wait to go back!

EBC Bluestuff NDX are races pad that can be used on the street.

“Had to the time to install the EBC BlueStuff NDX pads along with ST Suspension. Drove car for 4 days lightly around town/work before bedding the pads with speed/heat.

This Mustang package came stock with OEM Performance Friction street pads (not the Z-Rated, but a compound between full street and the Zs). An upgrade over the OEM base pads. But still left the driver lacking great cold bite and response.
The NDX pads are designed for street and track usage for heavier platforms. Meant to give the driver cold bite and progressive feel for cars that need to come to a complete stop (v. aggressive speed scrubbing without stops (eg. track day)). With driver my Mustang is in the 36xx range. NDX is the perfect application for the Mustang.
For those wondering about the Yellowstuff, I run Yellowstuff pads on my Time Trial SVT Focus. Its a much lighter car (2815 with driver).
EBC YellowStuffs Review Here
These NDX pads deliver exactly what they promise. Great cold bite and more bite as the you work heat into the system.

Some squeak after pads got hot. Zero noise on the street unless you really heat them up (like an autocross). Dust is was low and easily washed off after the autocross. In the 5 days post event, I have yet to clean the wheels. Dust is lower on street use.
In the autocross, pads had bite and consistency throughout the day. With a co-driver and ambient heat in the 90s (course temps in the 100s) there was zero fade after 12-15 autocross runs. Co-driver took 3rd in PAX and I took 4th. We both noted that you could brake late with confidence. Positive pedal pressures with smooth release.
Still finding that the EBC pads have been keeping their promise and delivering across multiple car types and racing. Very happy to run them.

“The stock Brake Pads that came on my Performance Package V6 Mustang were supposed to be more aggressive than Ford’s regular street pad. That may be true but they underperformed to my standards. I have been accustomed to a nice pad that is suitable for autocross and road course use. Besides a nicer pad will help give you confidence on the street when we all know stopping distance can become an almost daily issue.

Bluestuff NDX is a high friction sport and race material that can be used for aggressive street driving and certain types of track use.

I put these pads on before I took the mustang around the track at Hallet. You can read more about the EBC Bluestuff brake performance at Hallet I was very impressed with their performance at the track. They held up lap after lap for the whole day. These pads have also help up great on the street. I have had very little issues with squeaking. These pads do not need to “come up to temperature” before they perform well. These Bluestuff pads also work in the rain. I plan on running them all year long.

Another one of our Authors, who is a regular at the autocross has written a nice review of the EBC BlueStuff pads, click here to view.

One of the Lead Instructors at Track Guys Performance Driving Schoolput on a set of EBC Bluestuff pads and ran at Heartland Park. See the articles below.

This blog has been taken from http://www.scikotics.com/forums/showthread.php?356232-EBC-Yellow-Stuff-Brake

“A while back I began my search for brake upgrades that could improve my Autocross time without breaking the bank. I decided pads and stainless steel lines were the way to go and after some research, went with EBC pads. (still researching the lines) So here is my review of the EBC Brakes Yellowstuff Pads for the tC2. If you choose to get the Redstuff or Greenstuff pads, you will see some differences.

Pros: Neck breaking stopping power without a full brake upgrade. Pads break in quickly. Clean, smooth stopping. Very easy installation.

Cons: More brake dust (thus more squeaking) than stock.

Review: Bottom line, these brake pads are great. They stop my car as effortlessly as Jason Bourne taking down a local bad guy. Given the relatively low cost for the performance gains and the importance of brakes on any car, I would definitely put these on the “must have” list of mods.

The 3 main levels of pads EBC makes is Greenstuff (very low dust with the same stopping power as stock), Redstuff (same amount of dust as stock, but more stopping power), and Yellowstuff (street-legal racing pads). If you know me at all, you know I’d have to think harder on whether or not to roll up my windows when I wash my car than on which pads I’d want of those three. So EBC sent me Yellowstuff pads.

When I first opened the box, my heart sank as I saw the inner box said “Pontiac Vibe & Toyota Matrix” on it. Thankfully there is a Google and I was quickly able to verify these were in fact the correct pads. Whew!!! I installed the pads that night, which took about 30 min total.

Taking it easy for the first 150 or so miles, I was surprised to find out even the Yellowstuff pads are very tame during light braking. At first, I wondered if they were going to be any better than stock in raw braking power. Oh buddy… These pads are deceptively powerful. The first time I decided to stop a little faster (what I would consider “normal” braking) was coming off the freeway. Applying the same pressure (and feeling just like stock pads used to) I was at almost a complete stop only halfway to my intended stopping point. From there, I turned on the road to my house, and at the next light, decided to use a little more pressure… which sent everything on my passenger seat flying. After a quick inventory to ensure none of the stuff now on the floor was broken, I had only one word, “Cool!”

The latest step for my review is with what I consider firm braking. If hard braking is what you do during a race or to avoid hitting a child running out into the street, firm braking is what I would do if I realized I couldn’t make a yellow light before it turned red. With the new pads, firm braking sent my ABS into a frenzy. Much like hard braking with my stock pads, firm with the new ones overpowers the stock tires and the ABS goes crazy trying to keep the wheels from locking up. While this is certainly impressive, it poses one problem. My new pads have way more to give than my stock tires can handle. I feel like I have a supercar and can only drive it up to 45 mph. Ugh. But I will be getting new tires fairly soon, so I will continue to update my review as I can.”
