EBC Bluestuff are the BEST BRAKE PADS I have used according to top Drift racer team Skyrocket Racing

Just a quick update from this past weekend.
Saturday the car was on display with Nitto Tires for the Formula Drift finals @ Irwindale Speedway.
Very cool event, huge turnout the biggest I’ve seen. 15 thousand were expected to attend I think that was about right, it was packed.
It was great exposure for the car a lot of pics taken and people checking it out. Thanks very much to Harry and Nitto Tires for having us it was great day.

From there we loaded the car and headed out to Willow Springs International Raceway.

Round 5 of the Speed Ventures Time Attack series was Sunday, this was our 1st time running there so it was going to be one of those day where I would have to learn the track quick
to be competitive.
Lucky for me we brought our Ace in the hole Ed Jay who is an experienced motorcycle racer and his knowledge of the track was key to getting me up to speed.
It was a beautiful day for racing, nice and sunny no wind and the track had good grip.

The practice session got cut short, basically no session. On the warm up lap a Infiniti G37 oiled the track and they spent the rest of the session cleaning it.
Apparently he had his oil changed the day before and the oil plug wasn’t tightened down so it vibrated loose and fell out.

That left us with 3 sessions to get up to speed on a new track, we had a good 2nd session went well had a chance to get some pointers and see where we were with the car.
Nothing exciting only pushed the car about 80% but had this nagging ignition breakup but were able to cure that in the pits. Ground strap that wasn’t connected was the culprit.

The 3rd session we pushed the car pretty hard, the car ran well no hiccups and were able to get some quality laps in. The car was handling really well and was very neutral in the corners
The car is quite a handful but with everything getting dialed in and the past year of development it is really starting to pay off. we shaved 11 secs off our time from the 2nd session.

For the 4th session we lowered the air pressure in the tires and went for it…….. the car handle great and I was able to push the car harder and harder with every lap, got held up a little bit
here and there by slower traffic (inexperienced driver in a GTR) and others. But we still got some clean laps in.
Went for a wild ride coming out of turn 9 onto the straight, I carried too much speed out of the turn and got off in the dirt. I saved it and was able to get back on track.
After all was said and done I cut 4 more secs off my lap time and finished with a 1:41. I’m fairly confident that if I didn’t have the 210lb weight added to my car I would’ve been in the
high 1:30′s (Sorry Von) :-)
We ended up 4th in class just a couple seconds off the podium but it was a great day all in all and for our 1st time there we did really good considering the other competitors had track time there before.
We came into this event 3rd in the points championship and left solidly in 3rd with just 2 more rounds left.

Thanks again to to my sponsors EBC Brakes for all of their support, we truly couldn’t do it without you !
Thanks to our friends and family for their support as well it means a lot to us to have your support.
