Great brakes for Formula Drift perform well for Jeff Jones
XDC Orlando RecapWell Orlando, Florida XDC Round 3 was a lot of unexpected events. We decided to do this event because it was on the way to Formula D’s Round 3 in West Palm Beach. When we got into Orlando on Friday and it was a hot and very humid day, then one hour later there was a thunder storm with 50mph winds (great).

For Saturday’s practice day I decided to watch a few cars go through the course and really try to get a feel for this new course for us. I soon realized this was not a drift event, it was a…… crash test day. Car after car into the wall!!! Cleaning up after all of the carnage took up a large part of the day, then to make things worse another storm came in, and ended practice too early for everyone.

Sunday’s competition day did not go as planned after we ran into an issue with bending an inner tie rod on are second practice lap. The repairs did not get finished until qualifying time. Regrettably I was not able to go in 100% with full confidence. I knew I needed to save the car for the next Formula Drift round, and not become victim to all the wrecking going on, so I went in easy at about 80%. After qualifying was over, we set the car up for tandem. During the drivers meeting are day was cut short. Unfortunately we did not make into the Top 16 cut. It was hard to hold the head up after that loss but with all the fans lined up ready to get a autograph, I had to get over it and pull the sharpie out and be grateful our car is in one piece ready to fight it’s way to the TOP!!

Thank you to all my fans, friends and family.
Big thanks to my sponsors EBC Brakes!
