Greenhouse heats up at 100 Acre Wood with EBC Bluestuff

EBC Brakes sponsored driver Chris Greenhouse and his team have won the RallyAmerica Central Group 2 Championship for the last three years and starting in 2010. Chris is very grateful for the support we’ve given him over the last few year and has sent on his most recent race report as seen below:

Defending three-time RallyAmerica Central Region Group 2 Champion Chris Greenhouse scored his second National podium of 2011 with a second place finish at Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in Salem, Missouri. The Cincinnati-based driver now sits in third place in the National Championship points after an all-out attack on the fast stages in and around the Mark Twain National Forest. Driving a non-turbo Plymouth Neon, he and co-driver Brian Johnson thrilled the Missouri crowds with a display of absolutely fearless, flat-out driving and netted his second National podium finish in as many starts this year.

“The event went well for us, and I’m pretty satisfied with the result,” said Chris. “We struggled with an intercom problem through most of day 1 which made communication difficult on the stages. We were down on power a little bit on day 2 with a nagging exhaust leak, but we still pushed very hard and I’m very happy with a second place finish. I would like to especially thank all of our fans who were out there making some noise for us and the #319 Plymouth Neon.

The event wasn’t without drama for the Weasel RallySports team as an overly optimistic fuel schedule nearly ended their rally early on day 1. The team finished the first four stages and transited back to the service parc only to run out of fuel at the Regrouping Control. “We had to push the car through the time control and then push it back after service was completed. Only then were we permitted to refuel the car and continue the final night stage on Friday. We wanted to return to service nearly empty on fuel, but we just cut it a little too close and very nearly had our rally come to end because of it. We will certainly need to play a more conservative fuel game in the future.
