Bournemouth Kawasaki – Fantastic Win with EBC Brakes for Luke and BSB EVO Podium for James

Bournemouth Kawasaki have sent on their latest Croft race report on their recent successes:
Croft September 2010
James Hillier
With just Three Rounds to go in the BSB Championship we took the decision to spice our season up and remove James from the Stock Championship and put ourselves in the main BSB Races in the new EVO Class. The parts arrived on Wednesday to fit to the bike and we left early Thursday morning for the 310 mile drive to Darlington, The bike had not even been run until we arrived at the circuit. James had three 45 minute sessions to get the bike up to speed and by the Roll for Pole on Saturday afternoon we were nearly there. James did a great job and put the bike in 3rd place Evo on the Grid and a great boost for the two Races, Sunday was much brighter weather and James was ready for our 1 st Evo assault. The start of the Race was a bit of a disaster with James getting caught up in the 1st lap crash, But as the Race went on James worked his way through the Evo Runners and came home in a fantastic 3rd Place and well deserved podium, Race 2 was a real cracker with James getting a better start and having a Race long battle with the top Evo runners of Hudson Kennaugh, Steve Brogan and the late charging Gary Johnson. The Race went down to the wire with all 4 Riders crossing the line with just 0.6 seconds covering them all. No podium but a great Race for our 1st Evo Ride. James rode superbly and certainly set the stall out for Luke Stapleford to perform from the front Row of his Race 10.
Luke Stapleford
Luke continued his great riding and improved through every session of practice and managed to put the bike on P2 on the front row of the grid and great chance of fighting for the podium. The start was going to be important and Luke did not disappoint and lead the way from the start with a hard charging Josh Wainwright, John Simpson and Jimmy Hill all chasing Luke for the 1st four laps until Josh Wainwright took over the lead for just 3 laps and then Luke fought back in to the lead making a great pass, Luke then set about trying to break the pursuing riders and with three laps to go had taken out a good enough lead to see him take the chequered flag and the new lap Record for 600 Superstock of 1:24.931. Luke took a well deserved top step on the podium and the Team picked up its Team award. This has been a fantastic weekend for all the Team and the award goes to everybody in the Team, Alan,Tony,Dale,Wayne,Dicko and all the boys. Not forgetting the Ladies that do lunch and all the mucky jobs, Julie and Gayna. Thanks again to all the sponsors and the MSVR Staff for helping make the jump to the EVO Class,Hope to see you all at Silverstone in two weeks time.
