EBC Brakes Genevieve Chappell reports on ROUND 6-Formula Drift Point Of Impact

As many of you know, my favorite motorsport is Formula Drift! My hat goes off to Ryan Sage and Jim Liaw for bringing this terrific sport to the US.

Something about being so close to the action – the smoke in my hair, smell of the rubber burning off the tires, and the loud screeching as the drivers tweak their cars around tight corners just barely missing the walls – it appeals to all of my “car girl” senses!

I will be at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California for the Point Of Imapact Formaula Drift on Friday Sept 10th & Sat Sept 11th. Infineon Raceway is one of the four original Formula DRIFT tracks on the circuit. Located in Sonoma, CA, Infineon is close to the world famous wineries and driving distance from both Oakland and San Francisco.

Utilizing only a portion of the full 2.52-mile road course, Formula DRIFT uses the exit for Turn 4A, Turn 7A, and Turn 7. One of the fastest tracks of the season, Infineon’s course starts with a downhill straight that has seen drivers reach the 100mph+ mark before entering the fast right-hand turn. Drivers will have to use their best car control skills to manage the speed and slide back around the sweeping turns.

Fans will be treated to some of the best tandem matchups that are very close and exciting.

The action heats up with less than 100 points separating the top drivers from the championship. With only 1 event before the Finals the drivers will put it all on the line to win. Round 6: Point of Impact will also feature the Fatlace 1 of 1 Showcase bringing out a collection of the finest vehicles in the Bay Area.
