Ultra High Friction Pads for Race, Trackday and Street Use.
EBC Yellowstuff is an aramid fibre based brake compound with high brake effect form cold and is possibly one of the first ever compounds that can be used for STREET AND TRACK DRIVING. These pads do not require warm up but do get even stronger under the heat of hard driving. These are not a low dust pad and if your desire is for a low dust premium street use pad, you should consider EBC Redstuff. EBC Yellowstuff is currently produced in two compound versions – DM1846 and DM1793, both of which have been used with some success in racing. HOWEVER, for standard OEM brakes, as fitted to your car, there is no doubt that the DM1793 is getting better feedback, as it is slightly harder, slightly longer lasting and more appropriate for track day driving.
When considering full race use, DM1793 has also been a strong favourite, having been used for two years in the Swedish Camaro Cup and at numerous other race events where a stock caliper system is fitted.
If using a high efficiency aftermarket race calipers with 4, 6 or 8 piston set ups, the sheer efficiency might allow the use of 1846 compound. DM1846 is currently the choice of the majority of GT3 drivers which are pretty serious competitors.
If you have any doubts about which compound to choose for your street and track combination pad, go for the 1793.
Many part numbers now carry ECE R90 approval. Check with our technical department on technical@ebcbrakesuk.com to confirm if this material is street legal for your model when using for highway driving within Europe where regulation 90 applies. Outside Europe just fit and enjoy, these pads are the grippiest and most impressive pads that you will have ever used. Click here for more information about ECE R90 brake safety regulations.

Performance rallying places a unique demand on brakes. We require the best performance possible over a very wide temperature range. We run when it’s -20C, and when it’s +30C. We also need this entire package to fit under small 15″ wheels! Using a stock OEM Subaru brake set-up with nothing more but the upgraded EBC Yellowstuff pads, performance has been nothing short of spectacular. I have been able to complete 4 full performance rallies with the EBC pads in conditions ranging from ice and snow, to gravel, to a tarmac rally on a race track. Even after almost 50km of hard stage driving the Yellowstuff’s do not give up, and keep performing. A single set of EBC Yellowstuff’s has propelled me through 4 events, and into the lead of the rally championship! The performance and durability has been absolutely fantastic! |

In preparation for my first track day with my IS300, I read a few forums concerning brake pads. A person doing a casual track day could get away with factory pads and rotors, so I bought new pads and did the track day. My pads were over half gone and a had a high-speed braking vibration
by the end of the day – but I had fun, so I would be attending another one. This time I found out who the players were in the world of track pads and went with EBC after reading the reviews from people with large tracks and people who did track days – easily the hardest people to satisfy.
Overwhelmed with positive responses, I ordered my pads (yellow) and they arrived a few days before the track day. I bedded the brakes exactly as specified then drove to the track day. The first few laps I just did some normal braking to make sure nothing would surprise me when I really got on
them. The first time I really got into the brakes, the car almost threw me through the windshield – It was UNREAL how well these pads worked. I braked deeper and harder and the pads only got better. There was NO SQUEAL and the dust was minimal and came right off the wheels. My lap times dropped considerably and my braking was consistent the whole day. I have not removed the brakes yet – I love them too much!
There is a very slight squeal now, but only on initial contact. The braking feel and initial bite are astounding. I highly recommend these brakes to anyone doing a track day
or aggressive street and mountain driving. The only thing I don’t like is having yellow pads on my car, but the exposure is minimal (tips of the backing). Thanks EBC! |

I have run these pads for the last 18 months on my M3 track car. It is also used on the road and I have found these pads to be just as good as OEM for road use and very reliable on the track too. Including on the Nurburgring Nordschlief. So much so I’m buying another set. |
